Directive (EU) 2020/1828 focuses on providing consumers with the opportunity for representative actions to safeguard their interests effectively;
adding the AI Act ensures that this protection covers consumer rights concerning artificial intelligence products or services, helping people resolve legal issues related to AI technologies and harms caused by AI systems.
This amendment becomes effective in line with the applicable provisions outlined in the AI Act itself, generally after the regulation's entry into force date;
